lean on others

See how these books are leaning? Sometimes that’s necessary. Sometimes we’re overwhelmed or have major detours or struggles or maybe unexpected issues arise. And we fully need someone else- or lots of someone else’s- to hold us up because we just can’t do it on our own. Other times, the roles reverse and we are allowing others to lean on us in their time of need. Again, other times, you each might mutually and equally be leaning on each other (Think triangle or mountain shape). But either way— a “book” standing upright all on its own is totally fine until an outside force acts upon it and it has no support to uphold it. You need others in your life. Doing life independently is not what was meant to be.
I felt led to reach out to another couple, to spend some quality time with them for a stress free fun filled night. This was really our first time getting together. And let me tell you, it was joy to the soul to connect and laugh and share tough things and just lean on each other- furthering and deepening our friendship. I still feel the joy from that night today. I feel like we are now books on each other’s shelves.
It can be easy to talk yourself out of taking initiative on something like that or agreeing to someone else’s initiative for all kinds of reasons. But just remember a book can only stand on its own until an outside force comes into play.
Who can you lean on?
Who can you support?
Who is on your shelf?
I want to encourage you today to seek out those friendships and truly be there for each other. Add some books to your bookshelf because stories need to be shared.
Also. This isn’t just a feel good post or something I thought up on my own. It’s found many times right here in the scriptures… take a look and google:

Galatians 6:2
