Stick Like Stick Tights

Lewis, the boys, and I walked the trails around our house one Sunday afternoon. I was so excited about the warmer sunnier weather that I didn't change out of my comfy afternoon pj pants. Lewis bought me this pair of velvety-like pj pants a few weeks back and I'll tell you, I'm not a velvety kind of person, but these puppies are the most comfortable pj's I've ever owned. So much so I could wear them daily. The problem is- you don't wear velvety pj pants out in trails. Hahah! If you've ever walked in semi-maintained trails before, you know what I'm talking about. Stick-tights, briars, leaves, everything! Of course with this material, everything was jumping out and clinging to me.... especially those stick-tights! They covered me up!!
And then He spoke.
This is how I want you [my people] to be dressed when you come to Me. I want you to be clothed and ready for My words to jump out and stick to you. No, wearing velvety pants is not the best choice for the woods. But clothing like that, metaphorically, is exactly what you need when you are walking with Me through My trails of life. I want your heart, soul, mind, and body to be open and prepared with the right material for all the little seeds out there that I am constantly speaking to you to jump out to you, cling to you, and cover you up. I want you to catch everything I am speaking to you. This is how I speak. Sometimes you are not prepared in the right way and you miss my messages. You're walking My trails, but you're not prepared in the right way. Your "material" is not the best clothing choice and the "stick-tights" do not yet cling to you. I want you to catch it all. Prepare yourself, your heart, soul, mind, and body in a way where my words stick tight like a bunch of stick-tights!

"Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?
What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building." 1 Corinthians 3:1-10 NIV
“The wise counsel God gives when I’m awake is confirmed by my sleeping heart. Day and night I’ll stick with God; I’ve got a good thing going and I’m not letting go.” Psalms 16:7-8 MSG
“If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.” “Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.” Mark 4:23-24 NIV
“‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’” Jeremiah 33:3 NIV
“Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this” 2 Timothy 2:7
